Antinous
The most aggressive of Penelope's suitors and the ringleader among them, son of Eupeithes. He plans the ambush meant to kill Telemachus at sea, and he throws a footstool at the disguised Odysseus for the offence of asking him for bread — behaviour towards a guest that even the other suitors find shabby. He is the first to die, with an arrow through his throat as he lifts a cup of wine.
