Nestor's kingdom · Telemachus's first stop

Nestor's kingdom on the western coast of the Peloponnese, and the first stop on Telemachus's journey. He arrives to find the whole shore sacrificing bulls to Poseidon — the god currently hunting his father — and is welcomed without question before anyone asks his name. It is the poem's first demonstration that the world outside Ithaca still works the way a world should.
